My name is Beata Czop.
I am currently a student at the University of Hartford. My paintings and drawing inspire large scale installations.
Recently, I started drawing doors with light squeezing through the cracks. Then the doorways moved further away turning into hallways and strange rooms. Later these rooms would turn into caves- always with the light peering from behind the endless space. I always felt that there was something beautiful about the contrast of light and dark; it seemed like the most basic juxtaposition, but could be representative of so many things.
These works are now developing into physical spaces that attempt to capture the experience of walking into these unusual spaces.
I have displayed my paintings in juried shows, coffee shops, and school exhibitions. I would like to continue working in the studio and exhibiting after graduation.
